Okinawa, day 3 ~ Nago~

百聞は一見に如かず、という表現があるけれど、

その「一見」も、どう見たか、によってだいぶ違ってくるものだと思う。

沖縄を訪問するのは二回目だったけれど、

今回の旅で、私の持っていた沖縄のイメージが変わったと気づく。

それは、観光では見られない場所を見たから、

というような表裏のイメージのことではなくて、

今まで「旅先」だった南の島が、

「友達が住む土地」に変わったのだと自覚した、ということ。

距離や時間というものは、基準が決まっていて、

１分は60秒だし、1キロは1000メートルで、

誰がどう計測しても変化しないはずのものなのだけれど、

逆に、これほど気分や想いで自在に収縮するものも無いなと思う。

少なくとも、この楽しい旅の後、今まで私が持っていた沖縄までの距離は縮まった。

There is a proverb that says "Seeing is believing".
I guess how you see is quite important and the way you see makes things different a lot.

It wasn't my first trip to Okinawa. I've been there before. But I've realized that my image of Okinawa has changed in this trip.

I'm not talking about the images of its scenery nor its culture. Okinawa used to be one of the beautiful sightseeing spots, but now, it is the place where my friends live.

A measurement of time and distance is always the same. Yes, we have standards. An hour is 60 minutes, 1 km is 1000m.
However, I think they are easily controlled by your perception. 

At least, the distance between my home and Okinawa has been shortened after this lovely trip.
