My fifteenth trip to Paris

気付けば15回目のパリ出張。
いつもと同じエリアのいつものホテルに宿をとり、
いつもと同じ場所へ毎日通う。


同じ景色に飽きたかって？


景色はいつもそこにあるだけ。どう見えるかは自分次第。
初めてパリを訪れた20年前から、私はどんどん変化している。
パリの街は、そんな私に毎回ちゃんと新しい表情を見せてくれる。
見ようとすれば、ね。

新しい景色を見つけるには、ほんの少し、自分も新しくならなくちゃいけないんだと思う。
それは東京での日常でも同じ事。

そんな事に気づかせてくれる「旅」が、
やっぱり大好きだ。


My fifteenth business trip to Paris.
I stayed at the same hotel in the same area and went to the same place for work everyday as always. 

Do you think I've got bored with the same scenery? 

Scenery is just there. How you see it is up to you.
I've been changing since my first visit to Paris, which was about twenty years ago and Paris is still showing me varied scenes.
But only If you wish to see them.

I guess you need to change yourself a little bit if you want to find a new view and it's the same for everyday life.

Trips always remind me of those little things and thats why I love travelling.

Summer flowers in the sky

ここ何年か、友人宅の広いバルコニーにお邪魔して鑑賞していた多摩川の花火大会。
今年は、引っ越した新居から見えるのではと、自宅に待機をしてみることに。


どーん！やった！


見事に目の前に上がる大輪の花。
近所の子供達も皆公園に出てきて空を見上げてる。
住宅街が花火の煙で霞むほどの近さで、あのお腹に響く音と共に楽しんだ。

それでも花火が終わるとやっぱり皆とワイワイ飲みたくなって、
結局いつもの友人宅バルコニーへ移動。
美味しいお料理もたらふくいただき、楽しくお喋りして、嗚呼、満足の素敵な夕べ。


さて、そろそろ夏も終わりかな。


We watched the Tama River fireworks display from our friend's house the last couple of summers. But this year, after our moving, we stayed at our home to see if we could view the fireworks from our window.

Boom! Yes!

Beautiful summer flowers in the sky just in front of us.
Even the street looked hazy with firework smoke.
All the children in the neighborhood were in the park and looking up at the sky.


After the show, we moved to our friends house and joined the party as always.
Good food, lovely people, nice music, whew・・・it was a lovely evening. 

I guess the summer is about to end・・・・
